Woodturning?!

Yes, its wood. This is one of the most common answers I seem to give at art shows. It seems that the majority of people have no idea or have never seen woodturning before. So at times I have to remind myself of this. No big deal right? No not really. I truly enjoy being able to explain to people the process and show them how versatile wood actually is. So here is a quick run down on my bowl production…

The blank roughed out ready to be cored out…

after the bowl has dried for anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months or longer its ready to get finished turned to its final thickness...

then its just some sanding, burning, and oil...and Viola!
