Natural Edge Vessel Part II…

Here is the follow up on the Natural Edge Vessel Part I…Reversing the piece on the jam chuck and turning the spigot off and final sanding. Sorry about the pics not being that great. I forgot to move my large dental lamp..I’ll have to remember that next time.

piece mounted in chuck and ready to sand with drill...

piece finish sanded from 120 to 400 grit...

piece reverse mounted on jam chuck to finish turn the bottom...

starting to turn down the spigot...

this is as much as this piece would allow to be turned off the bottom...next step is to shape and sand the bottom. I like this part for some reason, it reminds me of sculpting the correct form, but much faster.

Different view...I have not figured out how to take pics of the last steps yet...The nub on the bottom gets cut off and sanded smooth...then the piece is buffed on the lathe...
